Normally, the plumbers perform the job of purchasing or selecting plumbing fixtures for your home. A dishonest plumber can take the project expenditure to figures that are beyond your expectation.
Hence, it is always wise to make the required purchases yourself. Though you can derive some suggestions from your plumber regarding the type and dimensions of a particular plumbing component, but carry out the purchase yourself.
Take a pen and a piece of paper and write down all the plumbing fixtures that you require. Consult your plumber on that front and apprehend whether the components he suggested are actually required or not. Prioritize the primary plumbing fixtures such as sinks, faucets, showers, cisterns etc. in the scheme of things. Check whether the old fixture can still work properly or not.
Once you know the plumbing fixture to be bought, move onto the next step. Take proper measurements of the opening or the cabinet that would hold the upcoming fixture. Keep the supervision of the plumber at your disposal while measuring the length and breadth of the space. Note down the measurements on a piece of paper.

The normal everyday swinging closet doors has advantages and disadvantages. The good thing about a hinged closet door is that it gives you a good solid surface for you to add closet decorations or a full-length mirror on the door to enhance your room.
I do like a Victorian design, but I like to brighten things up a bit in these kinds of homes. I want to maintain the architectural integrity, but I also want for it to feel livable and less weighty, if you know what I mean.
Even sliding closet doors come with some disadvantages. When you slide open the closet doors, there will always be one side that remains closed. If your closet has dual sliding doors, then you can only access one area of your closet at a time.
Bi-Fold. Same as also with the hinged variety, the bi-fold closet doors answers the problem of their hinged counterpart. They can be folded when opened so that it won’t take as much space necessary in your room.

Anyone looking to add to their closet design by adding different types of storage devices will find there are lots of options. From very basic storage solutions to custom-designed creations, there are a lot of ways to go. Choosing what to use will depend a lot on the closet in question, the space and what needs to go into the closet.
If a professional design isn’t desired, and building something at home won’t work either, there are still lots of things to consider for closet design. Some of the best ideas can be broken down by type of closet. They include:
Linen closets - To maximize the space for this type of closet design, or at least provide better, neater storage, there are some options. Compartmentalized shelves can make it much easier to keep wash clothes, pillow cases and other small items sorted. Large rubber tubs or other similar devices can work great at the bottom of a closet for holding blankets and other big items. Regular shelving tends to work best for towels and sheets.
Eliminate everything that does not belong to the pantry. The items that do not fit in your pantry should be removed ruthlessly and placed either to the right closet or to the trash bin.

Home gardeners find that rooting scented-leaved geraniums is not always easy. Often they have a favorite plant they want to propagate and after several attempts meet with failure. Among the many kinds, some root very easily, while others are very tricky.
Of the popular scented-leaved geraniums, the lemon-scented and the rose-scented varieties root easily and quickly under common propagating methods.
The lemon-scented (Pelargonium crispum) is a small stemmed plant, with tiny crinkled leaves, which requires considerably more water than most geraniums. Take cuttings about 3-3/4 inches long and trim off all leaves from the bottom up to 1-1/4 inches. Make a clean cut beneath an eye, dip the end into 3X rooting powder and insert the cuttings in clean sand, deep enough so that the lower leaves do not touch the sand. Shade until signs of growth are evident. Then remove shade and keep plants a little drier.
Oak-leaved varieties (Pelargonium quercifolium) are not too difficult. Take tender cuttings, but if they are hardened, root them under drier conditions. A 1X rooting powder is best. Practically all hardy and easy-to-root as well are the flowering scented varieties, none of which demand anything beyond normal cultural conditions. Here again water well, and allow the sand to become rather dry, but not arid, before watering again.

Property owners need a basic understanding of termites. Can you answer the following questions?
Q: How many different species of termites have been discovered? A: More than 2600 species have been discovered by entomologists. The U.S. is home to only 55 of them. Only 2 types are of concern to home owners: subterranean termites and drywood termites.
Q: How are those 2 types of termites different? A: Termites, like ants, are social insects, and like ants, they live in colonies. The different types of termites build their nests in different locations. Subterranean termites depend on moisture in the earth to survive, so they build underground nests and tunnel through the earth feed on homes nearby. Drywood termites, get their moisture from sources in and around the property they’re feeding on, so they nest inside the structures themselves.
Q: How would I know if termites have invaded my home? And how do I tell the difference between the different types? You may detect subterranean termites when they swarm in the spring. At that time the colony splits to begin other colonies. Mud tubes on the foundation or walls is a sign of subterranean termites. All termites leave wood that may look broken, blistered or weak. Discarded wings or piles of “sawdust” may indicate that drywood termites were present in the past or are currently present.
